The hijab also offends men, me at the very least. We are told by these muslim apologists that the hijab doesn’t oppress women, it ‘protects’ women because Islam is feminist (the irony!). I am not a monster who can’t control his sexual impulses, not somebody whom a muslim woman need…
this is true. why should we shut the fuck up if we’re being oppressed??? STOP OPPRESSING
We will be rude to Republicans whenever we want.
The mere existence of social conservatives is a threat to people like us. When I say that, I mean people who are female and/or queer like us. Conservatives, by virtue of their views, are inherently against us. It’s not just a matter of ideology, it’s a matter of our personal lives and our safety. We don’t need to sit and accept these opinions and “agree to disagree.” Because it’s not a matter of opinion, it’s a matter of oppression.
People trying to tell us what to do with our bodies, trying to tell us what roles we need to fit into, trying to tell us that our lives are immoral or that we’re not deserving of fair treatment? Now, THAT is fucking rude.

Marketing Campaign of the Day: As if it weren’t enough that North Carolina already doesn’t recognize same-sex unions, the state votes next Tuesday on a ballot measure that reads: “Constitutional amendment to provide that marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized by this State.”
This ad campaign, by Winston-Salem agency The Variable, plays on segregation-era discrimination to shock voters into voting down the offensive legislation, called Amendment 1: “On May 8th, make history. Don’t repeat it.”
Yes, please.
